Hi everyone! I was so excited about our Spooky Weekend that I couldn't resist making a little party favour for you - an embroidery template for stitching this quirky Halloween owl! Click 'read more' to find this cute character download...

You don't have to be an embroidery expert to stitch this design (just check out my wobbly stitching above!) - simply print out, trace on to fabric, and backstitch over all the lines with stranded cotton. You might want to hold the fabric taut using an embroidery hoop, if you have one. I've filled his eyes with satin stitch, but you could add buttons or beads for a touch of sparkle.
Some stitchers like to transfer embroidery designs on to fabric using special transfer pens or paper, but I must admit that I just hold the template and fabric up to the window, and trace over the design with a sharp pencil!
If you like this little owl, check out my free teacup and cupcake templates from our Jubilee party back in May. And if you're doing any spooky stitching this weekend, let me know in the comments below - I'd love to hear what you're up to!
