When it comes to scrapbooking, we already know there's a lot more to it than just pretty papers. But today scrapbooker Shimmelle Laine is proving just that by using her skills to raise awareness of the Because I’m a girl campaign.

Take a look at Shimmelle's blog post 5 ideas for scrapping with girl power... fun ways to celebrate your inner girl - whether it's dusting down your old childhood photos or celebrating the last time you got together with your girlfriends.

Shimmelle's isn't just offering up some tips on scrapbooking themes. She's raising awareness for Plan UK and their Because I'm a girl campaign. They're hoping to break the barriers to education for girls in the developing world, where it's estimated over 75 million girls are not in school.
Shimelle's also donating the proceeds to her online scrapbooking claseses to the charity. Click over to www.shimelle.com to find out more.
I was lucky enough to have both my oldest and newest friends gather for my hen do this weekend, and they gave me a scrapbook of pictures of us over the years. Not only is scrapbooking a great way to capture some of our favourite times in life, but as Shimelle is proving today, it's a great excuse to join together and try and help girls everywhere around the world.
