Ever wondered how to add cross stitch designs to unusual fabrics like denim, felt or jersey? Say hello to soluble canvas!
Soluble canvas looks a lot like normal Aida; you stitch on it in just the same way. However, soluble canvas melts away in water!
So you can simply pin a piece of soluble canvas to your chosen fabric, cross stitch your design, then remove the pins and submerge in water. The canvas melts away, leaving your design perfectly stitched on the fabric.
This is a great way to personalise pillowcases, t-shirts, accessories and more. Be sure to choose fabrics that won't be damaged by water (if you're stitching on something you'd rather not soak through, you may want to use waste canvas instead).
