How tues-day: Free motion quilting

Today's how Tuesday is dedicated to all those of you who love to sew and quilt. Whether you've always fancied giving quilting a go or are looking for tips on how to step it up a notch & go freehand - we've found the perfect place to get advice - The Free Motion Quilting Project.

Join in with the free motion quilt along project

Creator Leah Day has set up a Free Motion Quiltalong as a way of sharing her love of freehand quilting with others. Once a week she posts a new video tutorial - free for everyone to try - and then invites you to share a link to your progress...

We absolutely LOVE Leah's videos - they're easy to follow, encouraging and make it look so simple! She started the weekly tutorials in January -  with a post called Let's Wiggle - an great introduction to machine-sewing swirly lines. She then builds up the series with how to take this basic technique and try new things, from Playing with scale to connecting quilted pieces and finishing your quilt.
