If, like us, you often glance reverently at others' knitting and thought 'I wish I could knit that' - then never fear! This week's Tuesday tutorial is actually a series of how to guides for knitters. Our new Simply Stitches series shows you how to give your garments all sorts of wonderul knitted effects - from cables to lace and (my favourite-sounding) - cluster & puff crochet! Read on to find out more.

You can find our complete series of Simply Stitches how to guides over on our main website. Each one is a downloadable pdf which gives you the knitting patterns to show you how to practise 3 stitches. These mini stitch librarys were first seen in Simply Knitting magazine, knitted in Artesano yarn, & they're a great way to get to grips with all kinds of texture. Here's a few of our favourites...

1. Simply stitches: cables
2. Simply stitches: lace & net
3. Simply stitches: lightweight cables & openwork
4. Simply stitches: lace
5. Simply stitches: vertical stripes
6. Simply stitches: cluster & puff crochet
