A month ago I embarked on a cross stitch challenge to stitch 150 place names. Thanks to this weekend's crafternoon, I can officially announce 'mission complete'!
Big thanks to Holly, Kim and Jo for helping me cut out, fold and stitch 150 different place names (and to Tara, Mel, Diane and my mum for their help with the stitching mission!). Tthe finished results are due to deck out the tables at my wedding next month! I opted for October Afternoon Seaside papers for the backing place names - as they have a nice but bright vintage feel. I've varied the colours to add to the informal feel of my wedding colours.
I was going to post a tutorial here on the blog but actually, these are so simple to make that i'm just adding a couple of pics for you instead - step one is to just cut some basic rectangles of patterned papers and fold to make a simple place setting. Double-sided scrapbooking papers work best for this.
And the final stage is to add a simple cross stitched piece of cream aida with a name added in whole stitches! This one's for my gran!
