After falling in love with knitted hearts, it's occured to us there may also be quicker ways to whip up some love using our crafty skills. This romantic felt-hearts lavendar sachet project is one of a series of die-cutting home craft ideas we've found for how to use a die-cutting machine to cut fabric. Read on to find out how it's done...

Oh hello... who says lavendar sachets are for grannies? We think there's a rather pleasing dose of the vintage nostalgia to this this project idea. It's pretty nifty if you're stuck for a quick gift to make up in an evening too. Here's how it's done.
You'll need
• Wooden hanger • Felt • Thread • Buttons • Ribbons • Dried Lavender • Big Shot™ Machine 655268 • Bigz™ Hearts 656334
Step-by-step: Lavendar hearts hanger tutorial
1. Cut batch of heart shapes (two of each colour) using a Big Shot machine & hearts die.
2. Sandwich two hearts together, fill with lavendar and padding, then stitch around the edges (if you need a hand, check out see our How to blanket stitch tutorial)
3. Make up a batch of different size hearts in this way (don't worry about matching too closely - it's nice if they have a bit of a higgeldy piggeldy feel). Now stitch each one to a length of ribbon so they hang in a line - cover up the stitches with a button and'or ribbon bow.
4. Tie a loop in the ribbon at the top of each string of hearts and hook over a wooden hanger.
5. Ta da! Admire your handiwork and give away - or keep for yourself so you get a nice treat every time you open up your wardrobe!
